March 26, 2010 - June 26th 2010 DAILY FROM 9:00 | 6:00 PM INFO: 212-206.6061
_____________________________________________________________________________________
For the atrium of the Maiden Lane Exhibition Space the Irish-based artist Caoimhghin OL Fraithile created a
site-specific abstract architectural structure Two Times Ten. He states about his work: My temporary works
reflect the transient nature of the world, humanity and our place within nature. To interact with the works
and leave with an experience which touches us and allows communities to interact with art and each other in
a lasting manner. The temporary quality of the works demands peoplefs appreciation and causes them to
commit the works to more than memory. They are a whole community experience. Caoimhghin OL Fraithile
received his diploma fine arts and sculpture in Limerick College of Art and his MFA in Missouri-Columbia, MO.
This is his first solo exhibition in New York. www.cof-art.com
In the exhibition space the exhibition Written Image by the Japanese artist Midori Harima is comprised of two
sculpture installation. The source of her artistic production lies in her own daily visual experiences with
media: gAs a child I experienced media images and stories by directly relating to them as reality, not
understanding them within a stable subject-and-object relationship; this frightened me and shook my
foundation. I grew up in late 20th-century Japan exposed to superficial information from all over the world
that lacked any genuine connection to its original sources or Japanese traditions. My aim does not lie in
changing the object itself by providing it with substantial quality, quantity and meaning (creating depth), my
aim lies in finding a new way of relating to the world by continuously reconsidering the self and analyzing the
structures of recognition. Harima received her Bachelor of Arts oil painting, printmaking Woman's University
of Fine Art, Kanagawa, Japan www.harimamidori.com

The show is curated by Elisabeth Akkerman, The Francis J. Greenburger Collection and generously sponsored
by Time Equities Inc., New York. The exhibition will open to the public on March 26, 2010 and will run
through June 26, 2010. Maiden Lane Exhibition Space is located at 125 Maiden Lane (between Water and
Pearl Streets) and can be easily reached by public transportation: Subway 2, 3 to Wall Street and J, M, 4, 5,
A, C to Fulton Broadway Nassau. Bus M9. M15 to Water.
